Are you finding yourself stuck in a cycle of negative communication with your partner?

Does it feel like you just repeat the same arguments over and over?

Maybe you just want to be heard and seen by your partner, or maybe you just want the same argument to stop.

Communication is harder than it seems, and you are not alone.

Here’s how I can help

With specific training in Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy, I use observation and learning to identify the current negative communication cycles that lead to repetitive conflict in your relationship.

I help couples learn how to understand their own and their partner’s parts of the cycle and, through practice, help them escape the ingrained protections that keeps them in the negative cycle.

Connection is Primary— it is a lifelong, wired-in need for ALL mammals.

Through the lens of Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy, couples learn that the enemy is not each other, but the negative cycle. The negative cycle makes sense given what each person brings into the relationship from their past emotional experiences. Once they learn that each partners’ protective behaviors or responses are embedded in their longing for each other, their defenses quiet and reconnection and healing occurs.
